Our copper bay windows are done according to true historical double lock standards. Every copper bay window we have seen in Dallas is done with just 1 fold and a rivet or screw to hold the seam together? We assume because of the expecting hail damage, it makes its easier to replace? Just because copper gets hit with hail, does not mean it will leak. It will leak when its done with the current low quality workmanship that most Dallas Roofers deem acceptable
We custom fabricate our copper bay windows on site using 3x8 sheets of hard solid copper. We fabricate our seams to a double lock standing seam. Our copper bay windows are lifetime products and we offer life time warranties on all copper bay windows we install.

When doing a copper bay window. We suggest using 16oz soft copper sheets. Each piece should be manufactured on site to an exact fit

A true copper double lock standing seam is manufactured by hand using a hand angle iron that stands 1 1/4" on one side and 1" on the other side. Allowing the craftsmen to use the iron to make the bends in the seam. Bending 1/4" over the pan next to it and folding again using the 1" side to create the second fold. The seam is then beat tight with the iron and hammer. This is a true double lock copper standing seam bay window done according to SMCA (sheet metal contractors associations) The final seams stand 1" tall

All corners are folded using hand benders. Pin holes are then soldered using flux and solder

Standard installation prices for a copper bay window as seen above shouldn't exceed 950.00 per bay window

That's based on 2 sheets of 3x8 copper. Brick copper counter flashings installed add an additional sheet of copper and additional labor costs

We have chosen to use standard stock sheets of aluminum to manufacture on site an alternative to the hundreds of pieces it takes to do a bay window in shingles

As seen above this bay window only needed 10 shown panels to complete this bay window. Less pieces means less chance for wind blown rains to get to the bay window and leak into the house

When copper is not "appropriate for the neighborhood" or when its a bay window located on the back of the house. We suggest an Aluminum Bay window instead

Standard Installation:

Remove existing shingle roof and associated flashings

Install weather guard rain protector directly on plywood

Custom manufacture and install Aluminum panels

Single lock seam with crimped connectors as needed

Seal corners

New counter flashings, cut into new riglets over the existing flashing height to eliminate any existing mess left by the previous installation
